CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)


The CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), will give you the opportunity to develop the skills to manage a wide range of building projects. You will learn the principles, regulations and techniques of the building industry for low-medium rise buildings and projects. You will learn how to coordinate the complete construction of a residential, industrial or commercial building and take responsibility for your work.

This qualification has been superseded and is currently in a transition to a new qualification. In line with our registering body requirements the existing qualification is still able to be enrolled in, completed and have qualifications issued. Core will be offering the new qualification within the next 6 – 12 months.

Training Location and Course Delivery

We structure the course to fit in with our students’ busy work schedule so offer the program as an online setting supported by learning materials You will be provided with a trainer who still works in the industry to assist you work your way through the course.

We also offer the opportunity to undertake the course via a mixture of Recognition of Prior Learning and gap training. Gap training is undertaken using our online system and all learning and assessment materials are provided.  Students may be required to undertake practical assessments using either video role plays, face to face with their trainer (as appropriate) or through live virtual observation assessments.

We also offer credit transfer for any units you may have completed previously in other qualifications such as the CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building Construction.

Who Should Do This Course?

This course is suitable for those with at least 2-5 years of construction industry experience who may have already completed previous qualifications relating to the construction industry.

Funding Options

Students wishing to do this course can be provided with subsidised funding through Construction Skills Queensland.

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent industry funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the building and construction industry.

There are strict eligibility rules around this funding, please call and talk to one of skills consultants who can help you identify if you meet these requirements.

CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building).  After completion, students can continue to study at an Advanced Diploma level.

In Queensland, this qualification is part of the requirements for obtaining a Builder – Medium rise licence.
