Restricted Licenses


COURSE DESCRIPTION


Core Industry Training is able to offer the technical qualification requirements for a number of Restricted Licenses to those not wanting or requiring a full Builder’s Licence.

These Statements of Attainment are nationally recognised that will enable you to obtain the relevant licence to operate on a building and construction site in both residential and commercial applications.

The licences for which we offer technical qualifications are:

Eligibility for any of the above Restricted Licences requires successful completion of all or part of the Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) CPC40110. Specific competencies required are detailed according to each licence.

Core Industry Training is now offering the technical qualification requirements for the Restricted Licence qualifications via recognition of prior learning (RPL) and/or distance learning.

Queensland – Builder – Restricted to Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry

This course in the technical requirement required when applying for a Queensland Building and Construction Commission Licence – Builder Restricted to Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry Installation.

Students must complete either 7 units from the Certificate IV Building and Construction qualifications or they can choose to complete the whole qualification

The scope of work for this licence is as follows:

Install, refurbish, restore and repair a kitchen, bathroom or laundry onsite in a:

Class 1 or Class 10 building

Class 2 – Class 9 Building (if the gross floor area of the kitchen, bathroom or laundry is not more than 50m2.

Prepare plans and specifications if the plans and specifications are:

for the licensee’s personal use, or

for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally

The scope of work does not include:

building work which may affect the structural performance of the building, or

a fire protection licence is required, or

an occupational licence is required, unless the licensee holds the occupational licence.

Course Fees

The course fee for this course is: $1,750 for completion of the seven unis required.  Alternatively, you amy wish to complete the whole qualification at a funded costsof $250.00 (see CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building Construction)

Delivery

We structure the course to fit in with our students busy work schedule.  Our trainers will work with you to discuss your options for skills recognition (RPL).  This will generally consist of a meeting with you onsite along with the provision of a work portfolio as well as references.

Once this process is completed, if required, we will set you up for access to our online training system and you can complete your course during your own free time (with full support from your trainer).

Outcomes

On completion, you will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the units successfully completed.  This units can be used later to complete the full qualification if required.

Queensland – Restricted to Shopfitting

This course in the technical requirement required when applying for a Queensland Building and Construction Commission – Builder Restricted to Shop fitting Licence.

Students must complete either 9 units from the Certificate IV Building and Construction qualifications or they can choose to complete the whole qualification

The scope of work for this licence is as follows:
Building work associated with the internal fitout of a shop or office, including shopfronts, but not including Type A or B construction.
Prepare plans and specifications if the plans and specifications are:
for the licensee’s personal use, or
for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally.

The scope of work does not include:
personally carrying out any building work for which:
a fire protection licence is required, or
an occupational licence is required, unless the licensee holds the occupational licence.

New South Wales – Restricted to Kitchen, Bathroom and Laundry

In accordance with NSW Fair Trading, this licence will permit you to undertake work involved in the installation, refurbishment, restoration and on-site repairs of or to a kitchen, bathroom or laundry, other than work affecting any internal or external load bearing component of the building that is essential to the stability of the building or any part of it, including things such as foundations, floors, walls, roofs, columns and beams.

Students must complete either 9 units from the Certificate IV Building and Construction qualifications or they can choose to complete the whole qualification
